Planting Seeds is a comprehensive curriculum promoting emotional and social competence and preventing or reducing behavioral and emotional problems in children. It gives children learning tools to develop essential social, emotional and problem-solving skills and enhances parent, teacher, and peer relationships.
The curriculum is designed for children in preschool through first grade, but has been taught effectively to schoolagers as well. The curriculum was tested by therapists in a therapeutic preschool setting, then piloted in numerous traditional preschool programs to find the positive, skill-based approach works for all children. Planting Seeds emphasizes on learning, identifying feelings, expressing emotions appropriately, and managing behaviors.
All aspects of the curriculum promote social and emotional competence in children. Each component of this curriculum teaches lifelong skills, not only to the children, but to the teachers and parents as well. Everyone in a child’s life can begin using these techniques to enhance their own lives as well as create a more positive environment in which the child can flourish.
